MHFA Standard Course

What is it?

Mental Health First Aid is a 12 hour intensive training course delivered over 2 days.
The course provides an overview of common mental health issues, causes, symptoms and treatments.
It is perfect for those wanting to know more about mental health and how it affects others, or as an extension to standard First Aid programmes.
What does it cover?
The course teaches individuals how to:
  • Spot the early signs of a mental health problem
  • Feel confident helping someone experiencing a problem
  • Provide help on a first aid basis
  • Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others
  • Help stop mental illness from getting worse
  • Help someone recover faster
  • Guide someone towards the right support
  • Reduce the stigma of mental health problems
