Last year I attended a secondary school where I was bullied by the “popular girls”. It got so bad that I had stomach ache and very low self esteem. Some days I didn’t feel I had it in me to carry on.

My mum decided to home school me.

At the beginning of this year I started participating in natural beauty pageants and my confidence got a big boost! Together with the home schooling I am so much happier now.

One part of being in a pageant is raising money for charity. Miss England Coventry & Warwickshire supports Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and I am happy to support the charity as well as some of my family suffer with mental health issues. I also suffered temporarily with mental health issues and know how difficult and depressing it is.

Mental health issues are not talked about openly and I’d like this to change as so many of us suffer thinking we are alone, afraid to ask for help and support as society has labelled mental health issues embarrassing.
