Mental Health Awareness Week 2017 runs from May 8 – 14 with the theme ‘surviving or thriving’ and here at Coventry and Warwickshire Mind we’re holding a series of open days, drop-ins and social events across the county as part of the national seven-day event.

It’s a chance for you to join the conversation about mental health and wellbeing and discover the range of services we offer people living across Coventry and Warwickshire. You can also join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #MHAW17.

Monday 8th May

Journey Bus Outreach at Rugby College

When: Monday 8th May 2017 between 11am and 2pm

Where: Rugby College, Technology Drive, Rugby

About: Staff will promote the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and raise awareness of local services. There will also be the chance to speak to someone with lived experience who is now thriving despite their struggles with mental health issues.

 

Survive or Thrive Drop-in, Mancetter

When: Monday 8th May 2017 between 10am and 12noon

Where: Mancetter Wellbeing Hub, Mancetter Memorial Hall, Mancetter

About: Information will be available on what we do and how to build resilience.

Coventry Volunteering Action

When: Monday 8th May between 1pm and 4pm

Where: Coventry Wellbeing Hub, Windsor Street, Coventry

About: This activity is linked to one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing themes 'Give'. Representatives from Coventry Volunteering Action will be present at the drop-in to talk about volunteering opportunities and/or answer any queries you may have.

Tuesday 9th May

Information Sharing and Social Event, Coventry

Where: Cooper’s Lodge, 61 St Nicholas Street, Radford, Coventry

About: Join us for a coffee and a chat and find out about our recovery and wellbeing courses, one-to-one support and other services.

Peer Led Drop-In Open Day, Rugby

When: Tuesday 9th May 2017 between 1pm and 4pm

Where: Rugby Wellbeing Hub, 28 Cromwell Road, Rugby

About: Residents of Rugby, local to the Wellbeing Hub, are invited to join the Peer Led Drop-In. Learn more about the services we provide and how we thrive alongside our edible garden project.

Bingo

About: This activity is linked to one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing themes 'Connect'. Join others in a game of Bingo with a twist.  What is the truth and what is not?

About: This activity is linked to one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing themes 'Keep Learning'. Get involved with learning how to prepare a quick and easy stir fry, or watch and learn!

 

Support at Rugby Community Allotment

When: Wednesday 10th May between 11am and 12noon

Where: Rugby Community Allotment, Clifton Road, Rugby

About: Staff will be promoting the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and Wellbeing for Warwickshire services.

 

Thursday 11th May

Outreach at Rugby Leisure Centre

When: Thursday 11th May between 10am and 1pm

Where: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre, Bruce Williams Way, Rugby

About: Staff will promote 5 Ways to Wellbeing and raise awareness of local services, in particular the GROW 1:1 sessions and how they might help someone move from surviving to thriving.

Zumba and light exercises

When: Thursday 11th May between 1.30pm and 3pm

Where: Coventry Wellbeing Hub, Windsor Street, Coventry

About: This activity is linked to one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing themes 'Be Active'. A representative from Coventry Sports Foundation will be present at the drop-in offering the opportunity to join in Zumba and light exercises, and to tell you about their sporting facilities and activities. 

Friday 12th May

Elephant Hunt
