A celebration has been held by Coventry and Warwickshire Mind to wish Dee Hodgson good luck as she begins a new chapter.

Dee has been involved with the charity for the past 12 years after joining us as a service user, then as a volunteer Expert by Experience and worker on the Journey Bus as it travels the county to promote mental health support.

Passionate about mental health issues and supporting others, she has been open about the mental health problems she’s experienced since her youth, and most recently organised a charity challenge to raise awareness and cash for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind on World Mental Health Day.

Dee leaves to work full-time for the first time in years, an achievement she never dreamed she'd fulfill while experiencing the worst of her mental health problems.

She credits the support of friends and colleagues at the charity over the years for giving her the confidence to start her exciting new milestone.

Dee said: “Over the last 12 years I have met and had the honour to work with so many amazing and inspirational people and made so many amazing memories. Once you take Coventry and Warwickshire Mind into your heart you will never be able to walk away. Folks, I will be forever in debt to you. I will continue to fight the fight to raise awareness and reduce stigma.”

Thank you, Dee. We wish you the very best of luck!
