Referral to SHARE

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

Unfortunately, there is no self-referral procedure. Referrals are accepted from:

  • General practitioners (G.P’s. Doctors) and staff
  • Hospital consultants and staff
  • Community Mental Health Teams (Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers)
  • Staff from other agencies (Community Alcohol Service, Community Drugs Team, Probation etc)

We prefer referrals by letter or referral form, however, telephone calls from referrers are acceptable.

Anyone with more major difficulties, including the following, may not be appropriately helped by SHARE. Telephone calls from referrers are welcome to discuss suitability.

  • Psychosis
  • Bi-polar
  • Dementia
  • Unresolved depression
  • Personality disorders
  • Neurological conditions

Following acceptance of referral each prospective client will be contacted.

Clients need to be aware that they will not be able to attend sessions whilst under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.

Clients also need to be aware that these are group sessions.

Please download the referral forms and other information from our Making a referral page
