Enhance your ability to cope with lifes's ups and downs by addressing your levels of physical activity and learning how to eat a nutritious, well balanced diet.

 

The Body and Mind service provides a personalised support package, facilitated by qualified wellbeing officers. It aims to equip individuals with knowledge, information and skills required to bring about long-term improvement to health and wellbeing. You can choose to access minimal support of three weeks or sign up for the complete programme of 12 - 15 weeks. Wellbeing Officers deliver advice and activities in the areas of Nutrition, Physical Activity and strategies for improving Mental and Emotional Health. Children (over 7) and adults who are obese or lead an unhealthy lifestyle (e.g. poor diet, lack of physical exercise) and/or experience mental ill health or emotional distress are eligable for the Body and mind Service.

The programme addresses the following three key areas:

Physical Activity

Promoting the importance of increasing the levels of physical activity.

Nutrition/Diet

Improving knowledge of dietary issues and supporting individuals to improve the quality of their diet and implement the adoption of healthier choices.

Mental/Emotional Health

Promoting a better understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Looking at building confidence, raising self esteem and managing anxiety.
